The first thing the tutorial clarifies is to have a plan of the painting before starting. All visual problems must be resolved at the sketch stage. Once having started, on top of block colours the textures and photography must be embedded, following that initial idea, not altering it to fit the stock images. Then adding the impression of depth through some visual tricks, and a few finishing touches and my first matte painting is complete.
