3. Review and critically appraise the complex concepts and professional practices which underpin the production of original imagery.

The brief that I struggled the most with in its complexity is NeoRacer for Atomhawk. To an extend that was due to the brief and style guide attached being very specific of what they require. But mostly the reason for my difficulty is that I had not drawn cars prior to this task. So in order to understand the anatomy of a car I started off with a lot of car 'life drawing':

(Car life drawing example:)

At a certain point I was comfortable enough in my understanding of cars to start making up  my own designs. I created the 9 pencil sketches below, which I later on developed further digitally:

(9 Car Designs:)

Though the car I chose from the thumbnails was not believable enough to work as a final design. I struggled with the structure and making the individual parts seem like they have weight to them. So I went back and explored different references and re-evaluated the aesthetics of the design:

(Car Design process:)

After having resolved those issues, I had to decide what the best way to present the special function of the car. Having in mind that the work would be communicated through the form of a PowerPoint Presentation, I decided to split the two looks of the car in two different slides, so that I could easily flip through and make the comparison between them:

Approaching this complex projct in such a way enriched my technological knowledge and now I feel more confident as an artist to design vehicles.
